Leopard on the Mac Pro

I upgraded to Leopard on my Mac Pro tonight. It was scary, but it went pretty well.

There are no major problems so far. There was a flock of small problems however. Here's the rundown so far:

That's all I can remember. There may be more. When I quit tonight, Time Machine was busy backing up HD1 to the G-Drive. We'll see how it did this afternoon. I'm still using SuperDuper to make a bootable backup on HD2.

Oh, by the way. The ugly dock loses its 3D appearance and reflections when put at the side of the screen where I have it. It looks like the Stacks feature does only Grid mode from there. A good thing. Cover Flow is really nice for pictures. Not sure about Quick Look. Text is kind of small in it. I like the general look of everything. The transparency features are kind of silly tho. I need to find a cool wallpaper now.

Spring Has Sprung

I was taking some pics for eBay and decided to get a few of the back yard too. Stuff's just growing and blooming all over the place!

The excitement never stops...

I got an email from Amazon in Germany today. This is always fun since I don't understand so good the language. :-) They wanted my feedback on a recent order from etcc-versand, a Marketplace seller I think. I gave them a 5 and said "Alles gut! Aber ich verstehe Deutsche Sprache nicht." Was that correct?

Those Apple Rats!

Didya see that the Shuffle comes in colors now? Sorry ladies. I bought too soon. :-( On the other hand, I had it easy. Choosing a color would have been difficult! New Shuffles. What color would you choose?

Mr. Fixit

Well, this summer, the house is falling apart! Mr. Fixit had to put in an appearance. First, that floaty thing in the toilet broke off. Mr. Fixit installs a new valve assembly. Second, Mr. Fixit's wife says, "The undercabinet lights in the bathroom don't work." Mr. Fixit finds the ground fault interrupter is blowed up. It seems she plugs the vacuum into it. Is there a connnection? Dunno. Mr. Fixit replaces it. Third, the bracket on the back-door storm door closer breaks off. The metal actually broke! Bad! Mr. Fixit installs a new door closer. Mr. Fixit wonders what will break next? It's said that these things come threes, but ya just never really know, do ya?. Ain't home ownership a joy?

Mr. Fixit charged $617.32 for Parts and Labor. The reason it's so much is that Mr. Fixit screws up a lot and it takes him forever to get a job done. But, thanks to clever accounting tricks, Dave is now rolling in dough. How'd that happen? Dunno. But, money, money. How nice! What shall I buy?

Never Again!

Well, Thursday (that's yesterday by my internal clock) I drove Leslie to a shopping center in far Bothell. It was horrible! Not the place. That was kind of fun. It was the travelling that was bad. Sooo much traffic! We were on the roads for like two hours. Anyhow, Leslie wanted to go to this furniture store to look for the usual things: A bed, a sofa and a chair. No luck on the bed and sofa but we did find a chair that was acceptable to both of us. It's my TV watching chair, you see. I need a new one every few years. I'm kind of hard on chairs. Leslie bought it for me and it's cool.
